Queen of Cups

Ten of Swords

One phase of your life is ending and another is just beginning. This change may have been forced upon you, rather than be of your own making, and while it may be an uncomfortable process to go through, it will mark the release of whatever has been holding you back. This could be anything from a work situation to a relationship or even an outdated way of thinking that no longer serves you. This may feel like a crisis right now, but it will work out in your favor and you will grow from this experience. Being able to see the whole picture very clearly will enable you to come to terms with what has transpired, to see that the 'death' of this circumstance is essential in order for new ideas, new behaviors and new relationships to develop.

Judgment, The Empress and Ten of Ghosts

Card One. Past. Judgment. You have made a review of your past life and are coming to terms with how far you've come and how much you've achieved. We're all familiar with the adage, "as you sow, so shall you reap" and by closely evaluating yourself and any accomplishments you have achieved or negative things you wish to purge in a very frank and honest way, you will have the chance to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. In order to do this, you need to confront the consequences of the actions and choices you have made, to come face-to-face with any mistakes and resolve any conflicts. Only then can you delight in your achievements and be more in control of shaping your future destiny.

Card Two. Present. The Empress. The moment is ripe to channel your energies into a creative endeavor and come up with new ideas for a fertile future. You're looking for unique ways to use your talents, to not only be emotionally fulfilled, but to also serve a practical purpose as well. You're feeling a strong sense of well-being, with physical security and emotional fulfillment. Feel yourself flowing freely at this time with the rhythms of your life.

Card Three. Future. Ten of Ghosts. This is the wish card so you can expect a cherished wish to be granted. This is also the card of pure happiness: stable relationships, emotional security, a feeling of peace. You're going to be carrying the momentum of The Empress forward into your future knowing that everything will work out for the best. Your personal goals will be attained, and although this doesn't mean that there won't be more work to do in your life, for now you will have reached the summation of what you have set out to achieve. Harmony will be yours.

The Halloween deck (which is most appropriate for today's reading) is a whimsical deck in the style of the popular Rider-Waite deck but changes up the traditional suits of the Minor Arcana thusly: Wands become Imps, Cups are now Ghosts, Swords are Winged Bats and Pentacles become Pumpkins.
