The Hierophant and the King of Cups

Card One. What You Have. The Hierophant. You've been experiencing life in a more spiritual way of late; searching for the real meaning of your life and what your soul's purpose is. You may presently be connecting with a spiritual mentor or you may simply be yearning for some in-depth study of things esoteric, philosophical or religious. Your thirst for deeper knowledge of both yourself and how you fit into the grand scheme of things is foremost in your mind. You've been on a quest to become more spiritually aware and this will not only advance you on your soul's journey, but give you a greater sense of peace of mind in the day to day, mundane workings of your life.

Card Two. What You Need. King of Cups. In order to further your spiritual journey, you need to be more open with yourself and get in touch with your deepest feelings, even those you'd rather not acknowledge to even yourself. Becoming truly involved in Life (with a capital L) is what is required of you: accessing your intuition, your creative skills and becoming intimately familiar with the inner you is the only way you will be able to move forward in your spiritual quest. And keep in mind that when you do tap into this wellspring, using your gifts to benefit others, sharing of yourself, and being a voice of compassionate understanding is also a crucial component of a true spiritual journey.

King of Cups

It's time to harness your emerging intuitive skills, intellect and creativity and channel them into something positive. If possible, integrate these skills into your work and use them for the benefit of others. You may be hesitant to open yourself up to those around you, and this is understandable. It's always easier to protect yourself than to render yourself emotionally vulnerable, but this is how we grow spiritually. If you have trouble expressing your feelings, then working on being empathic and supportive of others is exactly what you need to do. Never fear the power that being an honest and caring person holds. Allow the world to see the inner you, and in turn let your emotions flow freely. Offer whatever gifts you can to those who can most use what you have to give and never be embarrassed to be an intimate soul.

A three card spread giving insight into this day.

Card One. The Positive Aspect. Ace of Swords. This is the card of thinking logically, of developing a sense of the truth and courage in adversity. You may be facing a potential conflict today, but with calm planning and rational thinking, you'll find yourself in a position to deal effectively with the situation. This conflict is necessary for you to find a new solution to an old, lingering problem. You now understand the situation and know exactly what to do to resolve it.

Card Two. The Negative Aspect. Four of Pentacles. You're worrying excessively about your material life and your finances. Your self-value is too dependent on what you have, versus who you are. Being cautious is a good thing, but being overly-cautious is not and blocks your personal and spiritual growth and stagnates your creative energy as well. Having a little faith in the unknown may be a scary thing for most of us, but ultimately, letting go and embracing that faith, that "nothing ventured, nothing gained" attitude is at times what is needed to propel us forward on our life's path.

Card Three. The Outcome. King of Cups. Now is the time to get in touch with your own feelings. Going through the motions is never healthy, but channeling your intellect, your intuitive and creative skills is. It's perfectly okay to become more open and to take a chance on sharing the inner you with those around you. You're coming into your own with more awareness and perhaps a bit less control over everything you feel, do or say. You'll find that by loosening your grip on your material world, by embracing the person you are inside, you'll flourish in both your personal life as well as your professional life. Honesty, compassion, empathy and a sense of calm can be yours.
